13-Day Renaissance Rider Lodging

We travel well and stay in lodgings which are nothing short of top-notch and range from western style hotels to a Japanese traditional Ryokan.

General notes

Picture
All of our lodging is 3-4 star rated, shared twin room accommodation. Single room accommodation is available subject to availability.
All of our lodging is 3-4 stars; the only exception being the Japanese traditional Ryokan lodging in Hakuba which doesn't really conform to the star system.
  • Pricing and occupancy are based on shared twin rooms. This means that you will be sharing your room with another person in the group and yes, you will have separate beds!
  • Not interested in sharing a room? An upgrade to a single room is possible subject to availability. You can select this option at check out before paying.
  • Each room has its own private toilet and shower. This is a great option if you're not 100% into public bathing that's common in this country.

Tokyo

Our four-star lodging in Tokyo offers staggering evening views of the Tokyo sky line and is located in the middle of downtown for maximum access and viewing pleasure. Only one train and 12 minutes away from the crazy hustle and bustle of Shinjuku and Shibuya areas!

Hakuba

In Hakuba we stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan, located right in the very center of Happo village. With restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity, this place will be sure to offer you whatever Après-ski experience you're looking for.

Even better, its a 2 minute walk to the free inter-resort shuttle station hub so you can access whatever resort you want with only one bus--no need to transfer. If you don't want to take the bus? No problem, the Happo gondola is just a 5-7 minute walk away.

The hotel has an on-site indoor and outdoor hot springs bath, free for your use whenever you want. Couples can also reserve up to 60 minutes of private bathing; advanced reservations are necessary. Not comfortable with the public bathing thing? No big deal, there's a private shower and toilet in every room.

Kyoto

Located within a short walking distance to many of the must-see sights in Kyoto, this boutique hotel offers an amazing location along with a great accommodation experience. Only a 10 minute walk from the hotel lies the extremely popular Gion district. With pebble stone alleyways, frequented by Geisha and rikshaw drivers, a stroll in the Gion district is not to be missed. Kyoto will truly have you traveling back in time, as you encounter the roots to Japanese tradition and culture.

Niseko

Designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, each of our suites in the 4-star hotel have kitchens with stovetops, full-sized refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms offer shower/tub combinations with deep soaking bathtubs.

And at the end of the day, take your last run and ski right to the base of the hotel before jumping into the hotel's own Onsen hot springs complete with both indoor and outdoor bathing areas.

Note that this hotel is not ski-in from Niseko United areas, but it is ski-in from the Niseko Moiwa ski area.

Asahikawa

Our hotel in Asahikawa is great--centrally located, full (Japanese) size, with a hot springs style bath free of use for a Après-ski soak.  Centrally located to the small downtown of Hokkaido's second largest city, we're within easy walking distance of everything a downtown has to offer including bars, restaurants, karaoke joints, street vendors, tako yaki stalls, and more.

About 1 hour away from some of the best snow in the world in any direction, this hotel is a great base to come back to before deciding where to storm chase the next day. The hotel's daily buffet breakfast, featuring many Hokkaido specialties, both Japanese and Western, is sure to give you the boost you need to surf Japow's white waves!

Each room features free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combinations, complimentary toiletries, and bidets.  Relax in the hotels complimentary hot springs, indoor/outdoor bathing areas.
