Who We Are: Real Japan, Real Snow, Total Immersion
Operating in Japan since 2007, our parent group began as the first English-speaking mountain guiding operator on Mt. Fuji. In 2014, we launched Japan Ski Tours with a simple philosophy: students traveling to Japan should experience authentic local culture just as deeply as its world-famous powder.
It all started on the Niseko Annupuri Gondola during a conversation with a local Japanese skier. He lamented how international visitors often traveled across the world only to stay in resort "bubbles" —eating Western fast food instead of local Tonjiru (traditional pork and miso soup), completely missing the rich world just beyond the ski lifts.
That moment defined our mission. We don't treat sports progression and cultural immersion as separate things. Drawing on our deep local roots, bilingual team, and decades of alpine experience, we craft structured educational journeys that combine mountain skill- building, rigorous safety, and authentic Japanese culture into one unforgettable experience.
