OVERVIEW
A bustling country town in the centre of Hokkaido, famous for its Lavender Fields . Furano is also rated as having the most vertical metres to ride on the island. With below average temperatures, it also has potentially the driest powder, referred to as Diamond powder. Furano will become your best friend The two ski areas Kitanomine and Furano (New Prince Hotel) are connected by the ‘Link’ lift. Other than the New Prince hotel, the Ningle Terrace (arts & craft stores and tube ride), and the best ramen restaurant (in my opinion), there is not much else around on the Furano (New Prince) side. The Kitanomine side is more of a ski village with restaurants, the only pub with nightlife (open from 6pm) and Apres Ski cafe / bar (close by 7pm) near the base of the mountain. The great thing about Furano is that it is a small city with a ski village and ski resort attached. There are plenty of great restaurants and places to hang out after dark in town a short taxi ride away. WHAT TO EXPECT
Longer than average runs by Japanese standard. Hidden gems in the Back country and spaced out runs without major bottlenecks flooding any specific areas in bounds. OVERVIEWAsahidake is Hokkaido’s highest Mountain (Volcano, 2291m) and part of the largest Daisetsu National Park in Japan. Because of its location and low humidity, it gets some of the lightest powder snow in the world. On clear days, you can see the plumes of volcanic smoke rising from the numerous vents on the mountain. A clear blue sky, beautiful white powder, and great views of the surrounding areas are sure to make for an amazing day on the mountain !

Guests on the Hachimantai CAT trips can choose their preferred accommodation from two options and price points. Pricing is based on shared twin room accommodation; a single supplement may be requested during the checkout process for an additional ¥5,000 for both nights.
See more details on accommodation at the below link: Pickup's from Morioka Station and Hanamaki Airport (HNA) This trip starts with a pickup at Morioka Station which has direct access to Tokyo and Hokkaido on the Shinkansen Bullet Train or a pickup at Hanamaki Airport (HNA) which has good access from Hokkaido or Osaka/Kyoto areas. It meeting at Morioka Station, guests will need to find their own way to the meeting point at Morioka Station South Exit by 3:45pm. To find a train schedule that works for you, use this route finder here. If meeting at Hanamaki Airport (HNA), guests will need to be at the airport by 2:45pm Dropoff's at Morioka Station and Hanamaki Airport (HNA) This trip ends with a drop off at Morioka Station which has direct access to Tokyo and Hokkaido on the Shinkansen Bullet Train or a drop off at Hanamaki Airport (HNA) which has good access to Hokkaido or Osaka/Kyoto areas. If ending at Morioka Station, the drop off is at 4:30pm. If ending at Hanamaki Station, the drop off at the airport is 5:30pm. Note that the airport is tiny and you only need to arrive 45 minutes before the flight departure. |
