Hachimantai CAT Ski Trip
Introducing the most exciting new entrant to the Japow scene, the Hachimantai CAT. Hachimantai is a region of Tohoku known for getting loads of high quality powder. It also has famous hot springs, local food, and a rich history of hospitality.
Much of the terrain accessed from the CAT is alpine ridges and bowls with sections of nicely spaced trees. Depending on conditions, a 5-20 minute traverse or bootpack may be needed to get the best pow.
Getting to Morioka Station
This trip starts with a pickup at Morioka Station, which has direct access to Tokyo and Hokkaido on the Shinkansen Bullet Train. Guests will need to find their own way to the meeting point at Morioka Station North Exit by 3:45pm.
The below options utilize the bullet train with the exception of the HNA airport transfer which is by local train.
A note regarding flying into HNA airport from Hokkaido:
If flying in from Sapporo's CTS airport, the 2:40pm train to Morioka Station is coordinated with the inbound flight from CTS which arrives HNA at 2:20. While a 20 minute turnaround from the plane to bus is very short, the airport is tiny.
