Included:

9 nights of accommodation based in the best location of authentically Japanese ski towns. |
Get out of the tourist traps and interact with real Japan. A lot of the Hokkaido ski scene caters to the ski tourist crowd--its expensive, crowded and we think that sucks. That's why we've chosen centrally located hotels in the middle of authentic Japanese towns.
4 dinners and 9 breakfasts are provided by the accommodations which serve Japanese, Western and fusion menu items all with the attention to detail that Japan is so famous for. |
Visit one of Hokkaido's oldest sake breweries, with a brewing legacy of 350 years. Of course there's free tastings!
Door to door private vehicle transportation to/from CTS Airport--the main transportation hub for Hokkaido island. (more on this in the Logistics tab)
Transfers between each ski region are provided by privately chartered bus, shared with other trip members. Daily shuttle busses to/from the ski resorts are provided by either the hotels or by JST.

Day
6-7 |
We've got two ski days in the town of Furano. Our accommodation is one of the best on this trip, with roof-top hot springs and free massage chairs! Our hotel is located a 10 minute shuttle ride from the resort. While Furano isn't an Indy Pass member, you can't miss it if you're already in this region! For the two days in Furano, you'll be on your own for dinner! English is widely spoken in this resort town so its time to have your own evening food adventure!
Day
8 Transfer |
Check out of our Furano hotel early and head to our final base of Otaru, via a ski stop at Mount Racey, an Indy Pass member resort. We arrive in the port-side town of Otaru in the evening, just in time to go to some of the islands best sushi.

Getting back
The drop off at the end of this trip is the same as the pickup point.

Alternate Endings
If you want to continue to ski Niseko at the end of your trip, you can catch a 5:54pm train from CTS Airport that gets into Kutchan Station (Niseko's main train station) at 8:46pm. See the route on Google Maps here.
This trip includes daily breakfast which is served at the accommodation. It also includes 4 dinners during the Furano portion of the trip. Constant group dinners can get tiring so we've arranged for there to be five nights where you're free to adventure out and get dinner on your own!
Not just limiting ourselves to food served by hotels, we've also arranged reservations at two famous eateries for nights we spend in the port-side town of Otaru. The first reservation is at a renowned sushi-joint, the second is at a Japanese style Izakaya (serving Japanese style tapas). Our hotels pride themselves in the quality and authenticity of their cuisine and it does not disappoint. Most meals include at least a few familiar western cuisine options, but the focus is on an abundant choice of healthy Japanese foods including sushi, rice-based Donburi dishes, hand-picked mountain vegetables, various assortments of Miso Soups and pork Shabu-Shabu, just to name a few. The food options will not only satisfy but also leave you feeling healthy and well taken care of. Here are some photos of the food served by our hotels. |

Tohoku is the most recent discovery in the Japan ski scene. Reminiscent of now famous resort areas like Niseko 15 years ago, the Tohoku region has lots of pow and no lines.
8 years ago we went out and found the most untracked, uncrowded and unknown ski hills in the Tohoku region and put them on a platter right here, on the 8-day Tohoku Storm Chaser Trip. Staying true to our mission of incorporating cultural experiences, authentic restaurants, and trip-hosting, this is the next level trip for finding that hidden side of Japow you know exists, but can't seem to find. |
